What's this page all about?....... Well, here's the plan!

After two years of planning and two large teams of tireless workers in two states spending 22 months of processing data and sorting stock, the time has come!

Our new facility looks more like an ant farm, with the constant coming and going of busy people on a serious mission, than the well-organised parts megastore it has developed into. Computer programmers, graphic artists, storemen, not to mention a little old journo... the list goes on and on, a cast of thousands... well, in the 20s at least.

I was approached around eight months ago with the view to writing an interesting and informative editorial about the classic car scene on a monthly basis. But that's already been done. You only have to waltz down to your local newsagents to discover many excellent publications on this subject, and I'm figuring that you don't need more of the same stuff.

So... How, to keep this page interesting? I could rake up the dirt, rattle the can, stir the pot! Perhaps, I could get down right nasty with the so-called officialdom that throws obstacles in our way every time we move. That might be taking things a little far, but do we care?

As this is your page too, I'm inviting you to write in and raise the issues, send me those pots of dirt and I'll rattle, stir and shake. Together we'll tackle what needs to be tackled and if nothing else, we'll at least get it off our chests.

This will also be the place to hear of those funny little stories, the ones that are totally unforgettable. However, I'm sure there will be one or two that you'd rather forget, so I'll try not to include too many of those.

So it's now up to you, to get those fingers typing and email me with your ideas, any ideas. With my team of journalists and grumpy editor (actually, it's just me and the dog) I'll publish the most interesting and thought provoking stories every month. With a bit of luck, I may not have to do much at all! Now that's a job I've been searching for!

So lets raise our glasses and toast to Spares Direct, because from what I've seen, it's a concept that's sure to catch on!
